Central UCW
is a group of women dedicated to enriching the lives of people both within and beyond our church.
We hold about 6 meetings each year in the League Room. In June, as a summer closing event we celebrate our group and friendship with a luncheon. In December, we mark the Christmas season with a catered meal in the church hall, often followed by a skit and singsong. The money that used to go for a gift exchange we now donate to a chosen worthy cause.
A couple of fundraising events are held throughout the year. This allows Central UCW
not only to support work projects that maintain the care of Central United Church but also to financially assist outreach programs - locally, nationally and globally. As well, the annual Salvation Army Christmas Family project and Harbour View Haven nursing home church services and events are supported.
We are kept informed of the work and needs of the Maritime Conference UCW
network through biannual newsletters.
Central UCW
both recognizes and supports the important role that the United Church of Canada Mission and Service Fund has in global social justice.
New members are always welcome. If you enjoy fun and laughter, and find value in the spirit of helping others, please join us.
